Our client seeks someone who combines technical expertise, stakeholder influence, and strategic thinking to drive sustainable forestry impact in Romania's complex landscape of regulatory attention, fragmented ownership structures, and high governance expectations.
What you will do as a Forestry Manager...
Drive Forest Management Growth: Develop and execute national strategy to grow Forest Management certification, building a pipeline across state forests, private forests, and smallholders
Expand Certified Area: Grow certified forest area and certificate holders while unlocking group certification opportunities for fragmented ownership structures
Lead Stakeholder Engagement: Act as primary contact for forest owners, state forest administration, certification bodies, NGOs, and industry
Government Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with Ministry of Environment, parliamentary committees, Romsilva, and related institutions
Policy Representation: Represent the organization in policy dialogues, conferences, and public forums nationally
Standards & Technical Leadership: Support implementation and evolution of the Forest Stewardship Standard for Romania while providing technical guidance to stakeholders
Standards Coordination: Coordinate Forest Stewardship Standard and Risk Assessment development/revision processes ensuring chamber balance and stakeholder inclusion
Capability Building: Deliver trainings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement initiatives to promote certification value
Internal Collaboration: Work closely with European and global teams, contributing to regional initiatives and providing insights on risks, opportunities, and market developments

Forestry Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of forest management, silviculture, and certification systems
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute national growth strategies with measurable outcomes
