Our client seeks a highly motivated, autonomous professional to take ownership of the DACH market in this senior, client-facing role. You'll shape regional strategy, build relationships across the design and construction ecosystem, and drive sustainable revenue growth while working with architects, designers, and luxury brands on eco-conscious interiors and architectural spaces.
This role combines strategic business development with hands-on client engagement, requiring frequent travel within the DACH region for client meetings, presentations, and industry events. You'll also travel to their Wales factory for training, production visits, and team meetings while having genuine influence over regional business strategy.
What you will do as a Business Development Manager - DACH Region...
Develop Sales Opportunities: Identify and grow sales opportunities within new and existing customer sectors across the DACH region
Market Analysis: Identify potential targets, ideal customer profiles, and market opportunities while qualifying areas for sales growth
Strategic Proposals: Present strategic proposals to support new business revenue growth and market expansion
Commercial Negotiations: Work with clients on pricing, proposals, and commercial discussions under Head of Sales guidance
Sales Forecasting: Utilize data and sales systems to provide monthly and annual sales forecasts for new business growth
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with Head of Sales, production teams, and clients to optimize capacity and fulfill customer requirements
Customer Journey Management: Manage CRM, order book, and accounting systems including quotations, technical advice, and order processing
Market Representation: Represent the company at regional design events, presentations, and client meetings
Production Coordination: Liaise with production teams to align stock availability with forecasts and confirmed orders
Travel Requirements: Regular travel within DACH region and occasional visits to Wales for factory visits and training
What we are looking for…
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (relevant professional experience may substitute)
Industry Experience: Several years in Business Development/New Business Sales in architecture, interior design, building materials, or design-led manufacturing
Sustainability Focus: Knowledge or strong interest in sustainability highly desirable
Specification Sales: Proven ability to grow new business within specification-led markets
Communication Excellence: Strong interpersonal skills with professional verbal and written communication abilities
Presentation Skills: Confident presenting to architects, designers, and commercial stakeholders with ability to communicate technical details clearly
Detail Orientation: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work activities
Independence: Proactive, solutions-focused, comfortable working independently in remote role
Language Proficiency: Fluent German (C1/C2) and English (C1/C2), both verbal and written
Adaptability: Flexible and willing to contribute beyond defined boundaries in growing business
Travel Willingness: Ready for frequent DACH region travel and occasional Wales visits
