About the Opportunity

Synmatch AI is supporting a Germany-based industrial technology company in expanding its supplier network and operational footprint in China. The company operates a digital procurement platform that connects global buyers with qualified manufacturing partners and is now strengthening its sourcing activities in Asia.

To build and manage the organization’s presence in one of the world’s most dynamic manufacturing regions, the client is seeking a senior professional who will lead supplier development, partnerships, and local operations.

This role offers the chance to build a regional setup from the ground up and directly shape how the company collaborates with factories across China.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, manage, and scale the client's network of manufacturing partners in China, starting in the Shenzhen region

• Define and execute the local strategy for supplier sourcing, qualification, and performance management

• Conduct supplier visits, audits, and technical assessments across production categories (sheet metal, CNC machining, assemblies, etc.)

• Negotiate commercial agreements and ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost expectations

• Act as the main escalation point for technical feasibility discussions, tolerances, or quality-related issues

• Build and lead a local team focused on supplier management, sourcing, and quality functions

• Represent the German client company toward factories, industry stakeholders, and regional partners

Ideal Profile

• 6+ years of experience in supplier development, sourcing, technical procurement, or manufacturing operations

• Strong technical understanding of industrial production processes, particularly metal processing

• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and production managers about feasibility, tolerances, and cost structures

• Demonstrated success in building or scaling supplier networks

• Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with strong ownership and the ability to work independently

• Fluency in Mandarin (knowledge of local dialects beneficial) and strong English skills
